Richard Campos Business Support: Case Studies
Case Study 4: Landscaping Company Expansion
The client was an established landscaping company in the social economy. They had the opportunity to expand by entering into a partnership with another participant in that sector. However, to do this, they required capital to support the expansion. To complicate matters the principals in the business had a reputation for being very bullish and had upset virtually every person who had been to see them.
RCBS were approached to produce a business plan to attract funding to enable them to move up to the next level. After a very intensive period the plan was submitted and the adjudication panel were so impressed, they took shares in the business on the basis of the presentation.
The client was very impressed with the work that RCBS had produced and requested that they be retained for future management support as the project progressed.
This example shows the value of establishing a trusting and open client relationship. If the relationship had not been strong, RCBS would have lost the opportunity to progress the clients case to the point of commercial success.
